The high-speed,robust SZ strander from Tensor Machinery has a series of direct driven lay plates that provide a smooth product flow,even when the wire stranding machine reaches top speed. Since only the cable product,not the reels rotate in the SZ wire stranding machine the line speeds are higher than in traditional stranding methods.

The tensor strander was intially designed for fibre optic cables, but it is now being adopted by a number of cable producers for hybrid cable designs,power cables, and control cables and for any application where high speeds and reduced cable costs are required.

In most cases the SZwire stranding machine is combined with a high-speed binder that binds a yarn around the cable to hold the structure together. For some fibre optic cable design where a binder is not desirable. Tensor also supplies a high speed ,low -tension planetary stranders.
